It's great to meet you -

I'm Angela Strassheim, Internationally Recognized and Award-Winning Photographer and Artist

For me, photography isn't just a service - it's about preserving your story. And part of that is rooted in my own story, which as you might've seen me mention, didn't start the way you might think it did, with an artistic eye and a camera...

After my degrees, my work started in the morgue.

That might be a bit of a dramatic way to present it, but it doesn't make it less true. After receiving my MFA from Yale, I stepped into a role as a forensic and crime scene photographer in Miami.

It might sound like a far cry from Wedding Photography, Portraiture, and Event Photos - but the thread that runs through my artistic career isn't about cheesy smiles, or posed kisses. It's about real life. And real life... comes with the other end of the spectrum too. Not to get too poetic here, but we don't get to have the objectively beautiful joy of living, without the more confronting, difficult beauty of the end.

But the perspective I've gained over the years, whether I was working with law enforcement in Miami, or contributing art to the various public and private collections my work is included in, comes with me to every client session.

When you work with me, you're working with all of me, and you get to benefit from my eye for the raw moments that make life real.

And when we're done, you get to hold those real moments, feelings, and memories, in your hands. Or you get to hang them on your walls - and I don't think there's anything more magical than that.

My work isn't all weddings & portraits -

As an internationally recognized artist and editorial photographer, my art practice revolves around family, motherhood, and domestic space. I’ve had the privilege of having my photography published in magazines such as New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Harpers, Mossless, Artnews, Provok, and recently on the cover of Time Magazine.

I’ve also had the honor of being exhibited in, and collected by museums and galleries including Andrea Meislin and Honor Fraser Gallery, Marvelli Gallery, the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Whitney Museum of American Art, National Museum of Woman in the Arts, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Yale University Art Gallery and the Art Institute of Chicago.

The Process is Straightforward

Reach Out, & We'll Talk

Step one, is getting a conversation started. We'll talk about what your vision is for your photos, your priorities - and the varying ways I can meet those needs. If we're a good fit, we'll move on to step two.

The Logistics

Once we've determined we're a good fit, we'll take care of the administration side of things, like your contract, payment, package inclusions, and confirming any add-ons you want included.

Your Photos

Then, of course, it's time for us to capture your memories. Whether it's an afternoon session, or multiple days of events and celebrations, this is where artistry meets experience, and your memories come to life.

The Unveiling

But it's not over when it's over - because after your photos have been captured, it's time to make them into something you can hold in your hands. You get to relive it all over again.

Prints aren't an afterthought, they're part of the experience.

It's deeply important to me that the art we create together, whether it's photos captured on your wedding day, or photos taken to memorialize your life in a home you're leaving, isn't just something that lives on a hard-drive. That's why packages I create are designed to include material art as the capstone of your experience.

You'll be able to look back at the details that were captured. It might be every time you walk past the canvas hanging over your sofa, or when you sit at your dining table, in front of the gallery wall we created together. Or, it might be turning the pages of your wedding album every anniversary. But no matter what, you'll be able to experience those memories again and again, because your love, your life, is art. And art isn't a file on a hard drive, it's an experience that grows with you over time, and reminds you what it is to be alive.

Kind Words

ANGELA STRASSHEIM PHOTOGRAPHY  |  THE WORK

From the beginning, to the end - and everything in between.

Whether you're celebrating your wedding day, an anniversary, a birthday, buying a new home, or reaching a milestone, those moments deserve to be documented.

Striking, artistic portraiture doesn't just belong in museums - it belongs in your livingroom documenting your daughter's smile, and in your business promotion, highlighting what makes your work unique.

Your story is worth telling - and it's worth preserving, too. Working with me to create a legacy package means coming away with an heirloom that can travel with your family through generations.

Information about fine art collections here, this is about a three line placeholder, because I need to get the page design down, it's been making me bonkers for weeks. So I'm just typing random shite in here now, so that I can make a real page.

Let's begin the journey of turning your life story into timeless art.
