When you think about event photography, you might think about weddings – but there are so, so many more powerful, fun, joyous celebrations in our lives, that all deserve to be remembered, and documented, too.
Whether it’s your son’s Bar Mitzvah, or your partner’s 40th birthday, the photos you’ll come away with will speak volumes.
My approach to capturing events is photojournalistic.
And there’s a reason for that. Events are lived. For lack of a better phrase, my job when I photograph your daughter’s Bat Mitzvah, or your niece’s 5th birthday party, is to capture you in your “natural habitat”.
The look on your grandma’s face when she hugs you – the hidden one, you never see. The smiles from your kids playing their annual game of kickball at the family reunion. It’s my job to show you, as you are, together.
A bit more about me, Angela Strassheim
I’m Angela Strassheim, and I’m an award-winning, internationally recognized artist and photographer. I believe that life is meant to be lived – and that means, when you’re at a family event, you shouldn’t be worried about getting out your phone to snap photos of every little moment.
You should get to watch your daughter blow out the candles with your eyes, not through a screen. And that’s why I offer a robust suite of event services, covering all variety of family events.
Ensuring you get to enjoy the big moments of your life in real time brings me so much joy. But on to the logistics – Angela Strassheim Photography operates out of Easton, CT, and serves the entire state of Connecticut as well as the Hudson Valley and all of NYC. My team and I collectively have over 20 years of experience, mostly from high-art institutions such as Yale, Wesleyan and Pratt. We’re available to travel across the globe, as well as staying local. So no matter where your family is celebrating… I can be there too.

The Process is Straightforward
Reach Out, & We’ll Talk
Step one, is getting a conversation started. We’ll talk about what your vision is for your photos, your priorities – and the varying ways I can meet those needs. If we’re a good fit, we’ll move on to step two.
The Logistics
Once we’ve determined we’re a good fit, we’ll take care of the administration side of things, like your contract, payment, package inclusions, and confirming any add-ons you want included.
Your Photos
Then, of course, it’s time for us to capture your memories. Whether it’s an afternoon session, or multiple days of events and celebrations, this is where artistry meets experience, and your memories come to life.
The Unveiling
But it’s not over when it’s over – because after your photos have been captured, it’s time to make them into something you can hold in your hands. You get to relive it all over again.
