Motherhood is real, and raw, and beautiful.
Motherhood Portraits | Conneticut, New York, Vermont | International & National Travel Available

Motherhood changes you forever.
Motherhood changes your body, it changes your brain - it changes your family, and how you use your time. There isn't an aspect of life it leaves untouched. And it's scary, and raw, and real, and emotional, and all of those things? They're beautiful.
My Motherhood Portraiture isn't quite maternity photography, and isn't quite family photography either - it's a fine art view of these changes in your life, designed to preserve the core of who you are, and what you are becoming.

Hindsight is 20/20.
I'm Angela Strassheim, and I’m an award-winning, internationally recognized artist and photographer. A good portion of my artistic career has been spent telling stories of the things we leave behind, in various ways, as individuals and as a culture.
Motherhood is a different kind of "leaving behind" - it's beginning is also the close of a chapter. And when you're in the middle of that transformation, it's not always easy to see the beauty. When you're waking up for 3am feedings, it's not easy to see the beauty in much of anything, let's be honest. But hindsight is 20/20, and if you preserve those beautiful, quiet moments? Looking back at them in 18 years, when your little one has grown, is an experience unlike any other.
And it's an experience I want to help you have. Whether you're in the depths of maternity and want to remember the way your body, and with it your tone, has softened, or you want to capture the magic of breastfeeding your son, in portraits that highlight a mothers' love so vividly they take you back to that exact moment - we can create a package of images for you.
But on to the logistics - Angela Strassheim Photography operates out of Easton, CT, and serves the entire state of Connecticut as well as the Hudson Valley and all of NYC. But if your family isn't in this neck of the woods, don't worry. I'm also available for national and international travel, just reach out, and we can have a chat.
ANGELA STRASSHEIM PHOTOGRAPHY | PHOTOGRAPHY PROCESS
The Process is Straightforward
Reach Out, & We'll Talk
Step one, is getting a conversation started. We'll talk about what your vision is for your photos, your priorities - and the varying ways I can meet those needs. If we're a good fit, we'll move on to step two.
The Logistics
Once we've determined we're a good fit, we'll take care of the administration side of things, like your contract, payment, package inclusions, and confirming any add-ons you want included.
Your Photos
Then, of course, it's time for us to capture your memories. Whether it's an afternoon session, or multiple days of events and celebrations, this is where artistry meets experience, and your memories come to life.
The Unveiling
But it's not over when it's over - because after your photos have been captured, it's time to make them into something you can hold in your hands. You get to relive it all over again.

Prints aren't an afterthought, they're part of the experience.
When you work with a photographer from the fine art world, your experience is naturally going to differ from working with a primarily commercial photographer, and one of the big reasons is the approach to material art created with your images.
Packages through Angela Strassheim Photography guarantee that years after your big day, whether it's your wedding, a family event, or your Day in the Life session, you'll be able to look back at the details that were captured. It might be every time you walk past the canvas hanging over your sofa, or when you sit at your dining table, in front of the gallery wall we created together. Or, it might be turning the pages of your wedding album every anniversary. But no matter what, you'll be able to relive that day again and again, because your love, your life, is art. And art isn't a file on a hard drive, it's an experience that grows with you over time, and reminds you what it is to be alive.
