The love we experience in our lives isn't just lived with the people around us, it's also tied to place, and tied to the things that we collect in those places. Largely... our homes.
That means, leaving those homes, and downsizing the things we take with us, isn't always easy. We can, however, soften the blow a bit, by creating legacy fine art collections that encapsulate the feelings we had in those walls, so that while we can't always take the items themselves with us... we can carry, and preserve, the legacy of the feelings.
Downsizing Photography is about memory.
I'm Angela Strassheim, and I’m an award-winning, internationally recognized artist and photographer. A good portion of my artistic career has been spent telling stories of the things we leave behind, in various ways, as individuals and as a culture.
Transitioning from a home you've lived in for many years, especially if it means giving up items you've collected and loved along the way, is a real time exercise in this "leaving behind". Whether it's a choice, a necessity - or you're reflecting on the power of "home" after the passing of a parent or grandparent - downsizing photography can help you both process, and preserve.
The lines on your doorframe showing your daughters' heights over the years, may not be able to come with you physically. But you can bring with you an album commemorating every memory you want to document.
But on to the logistics - Angela Strassheim Photography operates out of Easton, CT, and serves the entire state of Connecticut as well as the Hudson Valley and all of NYC. The Process is Straightforward

Step one, is getting a conversation started. We'll talk about what your vision is for your photos, your priorities - and the varying ways I can meet those needs. If we're a good fit, we'll move on to step two.
The Logistics
Once we've determined we're a good fit, we'll take care of the administration side of things, like your contract, payment, package inclusions, and confirming any add-ons you want included.
Your Photos
Then, of course, it's time for us to capture your memories. Whether it's an afternoon session, or multiple days of events and celebrations, this is where artistry meets experience, and your memories come to life.
The Unveiling
But it's not over when it's over - because after your photos have been captured, it's time to make them into something you can hold in your hands. You get to relive it all over again.
